Is this a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?
الرزق مقسوم والحريص محروم، ابن آدم! إذا أفنيت عمرك في طلب الدنيا فمتى تطلب الآخرة؟
Answer
Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al Hambali (rahimahullah) mentions that the following statement appears in Israili [Historical] reports. It may be quoted as such.
He writes: “It is mentioned in some of the Historical narrations: ‘Provision has already been apportioned. The greedy one will remain deprived. O son of Adam, if you spend your lifetime pursuing the world, then when will you pursue the Hereafter?'”
