Recite at the end of the year:
اللهم ما عملت في السنة مما نهيتني عنه ولم أتب منه، وحلمت فيها علي بفضلك بعد قدرتك على عقوبتي، ودعوتني الى التوبة من جراءتي على معصيتك، فاني استغفرك فاغفر لي، وما عملت فيها بما ترضاه ووعدتني عليه الثواب، فاسالك ان تتقبله مني ولا تقطع رجائي منك يا كريم
This du’a should be recited thrice. Whoever recites this du’a, the Shaytan says in a disheartened tone: “My effort of one year (in misleading this person) has been destroyed in one moment.”
Recite at the beginning of the year:
اللهم انت الابدي القديم الاول وعلى فضلك العظيم وكرم جودك المعول، وهذا عام جديد قد اقبل، اسالك العصمة فيه من الشيطان واوليائه، والعون على هذه النفس الامارة بالسوء، والاشتغال بما يقربني اليك زلفى يا ذا الجلال والاكرام.
Whoever recites this du’a at the beginning of the year, the Shaytan says: “This person has safeguarded himself from me.”

Reference and authenticity:
I have not come across these two du‘as in any primary or secondary Hadith source.
Imam Sibt ibnul Jawzi (demise: 654 A.H) (rahimahullah) has mentioned them, with slight variations in their wording, as du’as which he heard from the pious ascetic Abu ‘Umar Al Maqdisi (demise: 607 A.H) (rahimahullah). He did not attribute it to a Hadith.
The meanings of these du‘as are sound; they may therefore be recited as general supplications. However, they should not be attributed to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), nor should one believe that the specific virtues and rewards mentioned are established by Hadith.
Text of the narration:
Imam Sibt ibnul Jawzi (rahimahullah) mentioned that Abu ‘Umar Al Maqdisi (rahimahullah) taught him the following du’as and said: “Our teachers have always been regular in reciting this du‘a at the beginning and end of every year, and I have never missed it throughout my life.
At the beginning of the year, you should say:
اللّهُمّ أنتَ الأَبَدِيُّ القَديم، وهذه سَنَةٌ جَديدة، أَسأَلُكَ فيها العِصْمةَ مِنَ الشَّيطانِ وَأَولِيائِه، والعَوْنَ على هذه النَّفْسِ الأَمَّارَةِ بالسُّوء، والاشْتِغَالَ بِمَا يُقَرِّبُني إليك، يا ذا الجَلالِ والإِكْرام
Transliteration: Allahumma antal abadiyyul qadim, wa hadhihi sanatun jadidah. As-aluka fihal ‘ismata minash shaytani wa awliya-ih, wal ‘awna ‘ala hadhihin nafsil ammarati bis su’, wal ishtighala bima yuqarribuni ilayka, ya Dhal Jalali wal Ikram.
Translation: ‘O Allah, You are the Everlasting and Eternal. This is a new year. I ask You for protection from Shaytan and his allies during it, for assistance against this soul that constantly commands evil, and for the ability to occupy myself with that which draws me closer to You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour.’
Shaytan then says: ‘We have lost hope of misleading him during what remains [of the year],’ and Allah appoints two angels to guard him.
As for the du‘a at the end of the year, on the final day of the year one should say:
اللّهُمّ ما عَمِلتُ في هذه السَّنَةِ مِمَّا نَهَيْتَني عنه، ولَمْ تَرْضَه ولم تَنْسَه، وحَلُمْتَ عَنِّي بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِكَ على عُقُوْبَتي، وَدَعَوْتَنِي إلى التَّوْبةِ مِن بَعدِ جُرْأَتِي على مَعْصِيَتِك، فإنِّي أَسْتَغْفِرُك مِنْه، فاغْفِر لي، وما عَمِلْتُ فيها مِمَّا تَرْضَاه، وَوَعَدْتَني عليه الثَّواب، فأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَتَقَبَّلَه مِنِّي، ولا تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِي مِنْكَ يا كَرِيم
Transliteration: Allahumma ma ‘amiltu fi hadhihis sanati mimma nahaytani ‘anhu, wa lam tardahu wa lam tansahu, wa halumta ‘anni ba‘da qudratika ‘ala ‘uqubati, wa da‘awtani ilat tawbati mim ba‘di jur-ati ‘ala ma‘siyatik, fa inni astaghfiruka minhu, faghfir li. Wa ma ‘amiltu fiha mimma tardahu, wa wa‘adtani ‘alayhith thawab, fa as-aluka an tataqabbalahu minni, wa la taqta‘ rajai minka, ya Karim.
Translation: ‘O Allah, whatever I have done during this year from that which You prohibited, were not pleased with and did not forget, while You [granted me respite] despite Your ability to punish me, and invited me to repent despite my boldness in disobeying You, I seek Your forgiveness for it, so forgive me. Whatever I have done during it that pleases You and for which You have promised reward, I ask You to accept it from me. Do not cut off my hope in You, O Most Generous One.’
Shaytan then says: ‘We worked against him throughout the entire year, but he ruined all our efforts in a single moment.’”

وأما دعاء آخر السنة، فإنه يقول في آخر يوم من أيام السنة: اللهم ما عملت في هذه السنة مما نهيتني عنه، ولم ترضه ولم تنسه، وحلمت عني بعد قدرتك على عقوبتي، ودعوتني إلى التوبة من بعد جرأتي على معصيتك، فإني أستغفرك منه، فاغفر لي، وما عملت فيها مما ترضاه، ووعدتني عليه الثواب، فأسألك أن تتقبله مني، ولا تقطع رجائي منك يا كريم. فإن الشيطان يقول: تعبنا معه طول السنة، فأفسد فعلنا في ساعة.
