Knowledge Requires Continued Learning

Question

I require the reference and Arabic for this, please
It appears in a narration:  “You are only knowledgeable for as long as you keep learning. The moment you think you know enough, you become ignorant.”

 

Answer

Hafiz Ibn ‘Abdil Barr (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Ibn Abi Ghassan (rahimahullah).

Ibn Abi Ghassan (rahimahullah) said: “You will remain knowledgeable as long as you continue learning. Once you think you no longer need to learn, you become ignorant.”
