Question
What is the authenticity of this Hadith?
“Allah revealed to Ibrahim (‘alayhis salam), O dear friend! Have good morals even when dealing with disbelievers, and you shall be among the righteous for I have said before that those with good morals I shall keep them under the shade of my throne, give them to drink [in Jannah] and house them near me”
Answer
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 6502)
‘Allamah Mundhiri has indicated towards the weakness of this narration (رُوِيَ) and Hafiz Haythami has declared a narrator of the above Hadith weak.
