Which Hadith commands pairing the nails and removing unwanted hair within forty days?
Answer
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded the following narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu):
“A time limit has been set, for trimming the moustache, pairing the nails, plucking the armpit and shaving the pubic region that it should not be left for more than forty nights”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 258)

(٢٥٨) – حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، وقتيبة بن سعيد، كلاهما عن جعفر، قال: يحيى، أخبرنا جعفر بن سليمان، عن أبي عمران الجوني، عن أنس بن مالك، قال: – قال أنس – «وقت لنا في قص الشارب، وتقليم الأظفار، ونتف الإبط، وحلق العانة، أن لا نترك أكثر من أربعين ليلة».
