Question
Is this narration authentic?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “If you see Mu’awiyah delivering a sermon on my mimbar, kill him.”
Answer
This Hadith has been recorded with a few chains. However, the chains consists of extremely weak narrators and Rafidis [extremist Shi’is]. The Muhaddithun have therefore declared the Hadith unauthentic.

Imam Abu Ja’far Al ‘Uqayli (rahimahullah) states, “There is no authentic [chain] for this text from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).”

‘Allamah ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) says, “According to the scholars of Hadith, this Hadith is a fabrication…”
(Minhajus Sunnah, vol. 4, pg. 379-380)
Hafiz Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) states, “This Hadith is a fabrication without any doubt…”
(Al Bidayah Wan Nihayah, vol. 8, pg. 192)
The narration is therefore not suitable to quote.
