A Du’a Seeking Refuge from the Punishment of Evil Deeds

Question

Please provide the reference and Arabic text for this du’a:

“I seek refuge in You from the evil [i.e., punishment] of what I did and from the evil of what I did not [perpetrate as yet]”

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this du’a. Farwah ibn Nawfal Al Ashja’i (rahimahullah) once asked Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) to inform him of a du’a that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would make. She narrated the du’a in question.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2716)

Arabic text
