Question
I would like to know is the following narration authentic?
يا عبادي إني ما خلقتكم لأستأنس بكم من وحشة، ولا لأستكثر بكم من قلة، ولا لأستعين بكم على أمرٍ عجزت عنه، إنما خلقتكم لتعبدوني طويلاً، وتذكروني كثيراً، وتسبحوني بكرة وأصيلاً
Answer
I have not come across these words in any Primary Hadith source. However, the message of this narration can be understood from the following verse of the Quran:
“I only created jinn and man to worship Me. I do not require any provision from them and I do not require them to feed me”
(Surah Dhariyat, Verse: 56-57)
Although the words in question should not be quoted as a Hadith until it can be verified, the meaning is correct.
