Question
You mention on your website that for the ordinary inhabitant of Jannah, there will be seventy two (72) Hurs (maidens of Jannah). Does that mean that everyone will have at least seventy two Hurs? Even the people in the lowest level of Jannah?
Answer
Yes, this is for the lowest ranked inhabitants of Jannah as well. The Hadith clearly states, “The lowest ranked inhabitants of Jannah”. The Hadith goes on to mention the favours these people will enjoy. One of them being seventy two Hurs.

حدثنا حسن، حدثنا سكين بن عبد العزيز، حدثنا الأشعث الضرير، عن شهر بن حوشب، عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إن أدنى أهل الجنة منزلة إن له لسبع درجات، وهو على السادسة، وفوقه السابعة، وإن له لثلاث مائة خادم ويغدى عليه، ويراح كل يوم بثلاث مائة صحفة»، ولا أعلمه إلا قال: «من ذهب في كل صحفة لون ليس في الأخرى، وإنه ليلذ أوله كما يلذ آخره، ومن الأشربة ثلاثمائة إناء في كل إناء لون ليس في الآخر وإنه ليلذ أوله كما يلذ آخره، وإنه ليقول: يا رب لو أذنت لي لأطعمت أهل الجنة وسقيتهم لم ينقص مما عندي شيء، وإن له من الحور العين لاثنين وسبعين زوجة سوى أزواجه من الدنيا، وإن الواحدة منهن ليأخذ مقعدها قدر ميل من الأرض».
