Reciting the Shahadah After Wudu

Question

I’ve been told that reading second kalimah (the shahadah) after wudu is Sunnah along with a verse of the Quran.

Can you please confirm the narration, and it’s authenticity?

Answer

Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

‘Anyone who recites the following after wudu, will have all eight doors of Jannah opened for him to enter from whichever of them he wishes:

Ash-hadu al la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘Abduhu wa Rasuluh

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 552)

I haven’t seen any mention of a verse of Quran that should be recited after this.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
