Kindly provide the source and authenticity of the following narration:
“The best thing a father can give his son is good manners”
Answer
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) and others have recorded the following narration:
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have said,
“There is no gift that a father gives his child more virtuous than good manners.”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1952)
Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith as weak. The Hadith however, is suitable to quote as is the ruling of Hadiths of this nature.
