Question
What is the reference for this narration?
“Whoever is given money, beauty, clothes or knowledge but afterwards does not sincerely humble themselves in front of Allah, it will harm them severely on the Day of Resurrection.”
Answer
Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of Qatadah (rahimahullah).
Qatadah (rahimahullah) said: “Whoever is granted wealth or beauty, [fine] clothing or knowledge yet fails to remain humble, these very blessings will become a source of calamity for him on the Day of Qiyamah.”
