The Best Pilgrim [Haji] According to Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah)

Question

Can you provide the reference for this?
Sa’id ibn Jubayr was asked, “Which pilgrim is the best?” He replied, “The one who feeds others and protects his tongue.”

 

Answer

Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of the Tabi’i, Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah).

Khallad ibn ‘Abdir Rahman once asked Sa’id ibn Jubayr (rahimahullah), “Which pilgrim [Haji] is the best?” He replied, “The one who feeds others and guards his tongue.”
