I read the following and no reference was provided. Please provide the reference.
Hasan Basri (rahimahullah) said: “How can your heart get soft if you’re busy thinking about finishing the Surah when reciting Quran?”
Answer
This narration is cited in Mukhtasar Qiyamul Layl of Imam Muhammad ibn Nasr Al Marwazi (rahimahullah), without a chain of transmission.
Hasan Basri (rahimahullah) said: “O son of Adam, how can your heart soften whilst your sole concern is reaching the end of the Surah?” [i.e. reciting hastily without reflecting over the meaning]
