What is the reference for the following statement of ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu)?
حين سكت أهل الحق عن الباطل توهم أهل الباطل أنهم على حق
Answer
I have not come across this statement of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) in any primary or secondary source. Although the meaning is correct, it should not be quoted as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) until it can be sourced.
Translation:
When the people of truth remain silent, the people of falsehood begin to believe they are upon the truth.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
