What is the status of the following narration?
وقد روي أن رجلا سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخرازة بشعر الخنزير فقال: لا بأس بذلك
Answer
This narration is cited in non-primary sources, such as Tafsir Qurtubi. I have not come across it in any primary Hadith source, nor have I come across a chain of narrators. I am therefore unable to verify the authenticity.
(Tafsir Qurtubi, Surah Baqarah, verse: 173)
Translation:
A man asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) about stitching/leatherwork with pig hair, he replied: “There is no harm in that.”
Note: This is merely an answer regarding the authenticity of the narration. Kindly refer to a reliable Mufti/Darul Ifta for clarification on this issue.
