Question
Can this narration be quoted?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Eat olive/olive oil and use its oil for indeed it is a blessed tree”
Answer
This Hadith has been recorded in several Hadith collections with a few chains [mursalan and mawsulan]. Imam Hakim has declared one version authentic and Hafiz Dhahabi concurs.
The Hadith is suitable to quote.
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1851-1852, Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3319-3320, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 3, pg. 497 and Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4, pg. 122)
