Question
Kindly provide the reference for this Hadith, please:
“Do not befriend a person who, when he becomes angry, lies about you.”
Answer
Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad (rahimahullah), and not as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad (rahimahullah) said: “Do not befriend someone who lies about you when he becomes angry”
(Shu’abul Iman: 9050)
