What is the reference for this statement?
“Allah only grants patience to a servant who is noble to Him”
Answer
Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Hasan al Basri (rahimahullah).
Hasan al Basri (rahimahullah) said: “Patience is a treasure from the treasures of goodness. Allah only grants it to those who are noble to Him.”
