What is the reference of this Hadith?
لقد رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يظل اليوم يلتوي ما يجد دقلا يملأ به بطنه
Answer
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith in his Sahih. The narration is therefore authentic.
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2978)
Translation
Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “I saw Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) bent over/writhing on his belly [due to extreme hunger], he could not even find inferior quality dates to fill his belly.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
