Question
Does it appear in the Hadith that performing Salah in Masjidun Nabawi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is rewarded 50,000 times?
Answer
Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“…and Salah in my Masjid is fifty thousand times better than in other Masjids…”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1413 with a weak chain. Also see: Misbahuz Zujajah, Hadith: 504 and Targhib, vol. 2, pg. 215)
Note: Other authentic versions state the reward in Masjid Nabawi to be a thousand times better.
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1190)
This will not be considered as a contradiction,
ولا مفهوم للعدد، فلذا لا يعتبر مخالفا
