Question
What is the status of the following Hadith. Is it reliable to quote ?
من قال لا إله إلا الله و مدھا ھدمت له اربعة آلاف ذنب من الکبائر
Translation
Whomsoever says “La ilaha illAllah” and lengthens it (i.e., recite it with a madd), four thousand major sins of his will be forgiven.
Answer
The Muhaddithun have declared this Hadith as a fabrication. It is therefore not suitable to quote.
