عن خيثمة قال: كان يقال إن الشيطان يقول ما غلبني عليه ابن آدم فلن يغلبني على ثلاث أن يأخذ مالا من غير حقه أو أن يمنعه من حقه أو أن يضعه في غير حقه

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration of Khaythamah ibn ‘Abdir Rahman (rahimahullah), a reliable Tabi’i.
Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) has graded the narrators reliable (thiqat).
(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 36162)
Translation
Khaythamah (rahimahullah) said, “[The Sahabah] would say, ‘Shaytan says, The son of Adam will be unable to overpower me in three aspects; Usurping wealth, Holding back wealth from its rightful owner/avenue or placing wealth in places other than its correct avenue.”
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

(٣٦١٦٢) – حدثنا أبو معاوية، عن الأعمش، عن خيثمة، قال: «كان، يقال: إن الشيطان يقول: ما غلبني عليه ابن آدم فلن يغلبني على ثلاث: أن يأخذ مالا من غير حقه، أو أن يمنعه من حقه، أو أن يضعه في غير حقه».
