Question
Kindly translate the following and is it suitable to quote?
عن إبراهيم رحمه الله قال إذا رأيت الرجل يتهاون في التكبيرة الأولى فاغسل يدك منه
Answer
Ibrahim [ibn Yazid At Taymi rahimahullah, a Tabi’i] says:
“When you see a man being unmindful and neglectful towards attaining the Takbir Ula [Initial Takbir of the Imam in Salah], then wipe your hands off him [i.e., there is no good in such a person].”
(Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 4, pg. 215. Also see Siyaru A’lamin Nubala, vol. 5, pg. 62)
This statement is suitable to quote as the statements of Ibrahim ibn Yazid (rahimahullah).
