Question
Is this Hadith authentic?
“There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him.”
Answer
Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith. The Hadith is therefore authentic.
Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Any Muslim who plants a tree or sows a crop, and then a bird, a person or an animal eats from it, will receive the reward of sadaqah [charity] for it.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2320, Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1553)

(ح) وحدثني عبد الرحمن بن المبارك : حدثنا أبو عوانة، عن قتادة، عن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «ما من مسلم يغرس غرسا أو يزرع زرعا، فيأكل منه طير، أو إنسان، أو بهيمة، إلا كان له به صدقة» وقال لنا مسلم: حدثنا أبان: حدثنا قتادة: حدثنا أنس، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
صحيح مسلم:
(١٥٥٣) – حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، وقتيبة بن سعيد، ومحمد بن عبيد الغبري ، (واللفظ ليحيى)، قال يحيى: أخبرنا، وقال الآخران: حدثنا أبو عوانة ، عن قتادة ، عن أنس قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «ما من مسلم يغرس غرسا، أو يزرع زرعا، فيأكل منه طير، أو إنسان، أو بهيمة، إلا كان له به صدقة».
