What is the status of the narrator, ‘Amr ibn Ghuzayy?
Answer
Imam Nasai (rahimahullah) has reported Hadith from ‘Amr ibn Ghuzayy in his book Musnad ‘Ali. Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared him majhul (unknown).

His narrations will therefore be deemed weak unless more information about him comes to light.

(٥٥٢٧) – عس: عمرو بن غزي بن أبي علباء ، ابن أخي علباء بن أبي علباء.
روى عن: عمه علباء (عس) عن علي.
روى عنه: أبان بن عبد الله البجلي (عس).
روى له النسائي في مسند علي، وقد ذكرنا حديثه في ترجمة علباء.
تقريب التهذيب:
(٥٠٩٢) – عمرو ابن غزي بضم المعجمة وتشديد الزاي المكسورة مجهول من السادسة عس.
