Question
Is this Hadith authentic?
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) relates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “One who remains awake [in ‘ibadah] between Zuhr and Asr and Maghrib and Isha, will be forgiven and two angels will intercede for him.”
Answer
This narration is recorded in At Targhib Fi Fadailil A’mal of Imam Ibn Shahin (rahimahullah).

Al-Shawkani has quoted ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahullah) who has declared one of the narrators unknown (majhul). I could also not locate another narrator in the chain.

(٨١) – حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد، نا صالح بن مالك، نا حفص بن عمر، نا يونس بن أبي عمرة، عن عطاء، عن ابن عباس، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من أحيا ما بين الظهر والعصر، والمغرب والعشاء غفر له وشفع له ملكان».

وفي الباب عن ابن عباس عند أبي الشيخ ابن حبان في كتاب الثواب وفضائل الأعمال قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من أحيا ما بين الظهر والعصر وما بين المغرب والعشاء غفر له وشفع له ملكان» وفي إسناده حفص بن عمر القزاز، قال العراقي: مجهول.
