What is the status of the following narration?
سلوا الله حوائجكم البتة في صلاة الصبح
Answer
Imam ‘Abdullah ibn Wahb (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith.
Abu Rafi‘ narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Ask Allah for all your needs in the Fajr Salah [i.e. in the Qunut].”
(Muwatta Ibn Wahb, 411)
Imam Abu Ya’la (rahimahullah) has also recorded this Hadith through the chain of Imam ‘Abdullah ibn Wahb (rahimahullah).
(Musnad Abi Ya’la; Al Matalibul ‘Aliyah, Hadith: 288)
Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) states that the narrators in the chain are reliable. However, there are one or more omissions in the chain.

The Hadith is therefore weak.

(٢٨٨) – قال أبو يعلى حدثنا أحمد بن عيسى التستري ثنا ابن وهب عن سعيد بن أبي أيوب عن خالد بن يزيد عن أبي رافع رضي الله عنه قال أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال «سلوا حوائجكم إلى الله تعالى في صلاة الصبح».
رجاله ثقات إلا أنه منقطع إن كان أبو رافع هو الصحابي، وإلا فهو مرسل أو معضل.
